On January 6, 2026, Guankou Customs under Gongbei Customs seized a man who hid 19 old mobile phones in a wheelchair battery box to smuggle into the country. The man, using an electric wheelchair through the green channel, admitted carrying for others for a fee. Customs warns such acts may constitute smuggling.
