Recently, the "Andre" cargo ship carrying 81.62 tons of imported fresh emperor crabs docked at Shidao New Port in Rongcheng, Shandong. This is the first imported emperor crab to arrive at Rongcheng Port in 2026.
As the Spring Festival approaches, the demand for imported high-end aquatic products continues to rise. After passing through customs and entering the country, this batch of emperor crabs will be distributed to major wholesale markets and supermarkets across the country in the shortest possible time, relying on an efficient logistics network, adding freshness to the pre holiday consumer market.
In order to ensure fast customs clearance of imported fresh and perishable goods such as king crabs, Rongcheng Customs under Qingdao Customs has established a "Green Channel for Fresh and Perishable Agricultural and Food Products" and implemented convenient measures such as "appointment clearance" and "priority inspection". Enterprises can book customs clearance procedures in advance during non working hours according to logistics plans, and complete the main document review before the ship arrives at the port, achieving "immediate arrival, inspection, and release" of fresh and perishable goods.
Through process integration and time compression, the survival rate of imported seafood is maximally guaranteed, "said Li Jianyu from the Port Supervision Department of Rongcheng Customs stationed in Shidao Port. The efficient and convenient customs clearance measures effectively ensure the survival rate and freshness of imported seafood, and enhance market competitiveness.
Efficient customs clearance services continue to activate the vitality of port trade, promoting the development of Rongcheng Port into an important hub for the import and distribution of fresh aquatic products in China. According to statistics, in 2025, Rongcheng Port imported a total of 645 million yuan worth of emperor crabs, a year-on-year increase of 24.04%. (Zhao Xiao/Text)
