The big business in the small bag, Fujian plastic products are steadily moving towards the world
On December 22nd, in the bag making workshop of Xiamen Mingbei Plastic Co., Ltd., machines were running at high speed, and rolls of film were quickly transformed into neat plastic bags after undergoing processes such as heat sealing, cutting, and binding, waiting to be sent to overseas markets.
As a major producer of traditional plastic products, Fujian Province, with its complete industrial foundation and continuous technological innovation, has achieved a synchronous leap in export scale and quality under the dual background of global trade pattern reconstruction and environmental protection requirements upgrading. According to Xiamen Customs statistics, from January to November, the export of plastic products in Fujian Province was 32.591 billion yuan. Ordinary plastic products, plastic sculptures and decorations, and plastic kitchen utensils ranked among the top three single products, with export values of 5.983 billion yuan, 4.074 billion yuan, and 2.979 billion yuan, respectively. From the perspective of enterprise nature, private enterprises exported 24.871 billion yuan, accounting for 76.31%.
From the perspective of export markets, the export of plastic products from Fujian Province to other Asian countries and regions, North America, and Europe amounted to 13.487 billion yuan, 7.88 billion yuan, and 5.898 billion yuan, respectively, accounting for 41.38%, 24.18%, and 18.00% of the total, respectively. In emerging markets, exports to Africa amounted to 1.944 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 11.70%, accounting for 5.97%; Exports to Latin America amounted to 2.172 billion yuan, accounting for 6.66%.
In the context of complex fluctuations in foreign trade, our business volume has remained basically the same as last year, maintaining good export resilience, "said Wu Zhibin, the manager of the shipping department of Xiamen Mingbei Plastic Co., Ltd. This enterprise with 43 production lines has exported goods worth over 80 million yuan in the first 11 months of this year. This is also thanks to the assistance of Xiamen Customs. This year, we have processed 297 RCEP certificates of origin, with a total benefit of 2.931 million yuan, which plays an important role in ensuring the stable operation of our supply chain and sales chain. ”
In order to facilitate the smooth export of plastic products from Fujian Province, Xiamen Customs continues to conduct special research on the "Enjoyable Benefits but Not Enjoyable Benefits" of the Free Trade Agreement, actively analyzing and mining enterprises that can enjoy benefits, providing "one-on-one" precise assistance, and helping enterprises to intelligently plan the optimal tariff rate. At the same time, we will promote reform measures such as "intelligent verification+self-service printing" and paperless declaration of certificates of origin, achieving "instant signing" of certificates of origin and "zero errands" for enterprises, helping them actively integrate into the international market and effectively enhance their international competitiveness.
