The United States launches the second double reverse sunset review investigation on passenger car and light truck tires
On January 2, 2026, the US Department of Commerce issued a notice initiating the second anti-dumping and countervailing sunset review investigation on passenger vehicle and light truck tires imported from China. At the same time, the United States International Trade Commission (USITC) has initiated a second anti-dumping and countervailing sunset review industry injury investigation on passenger car and light truck tires imported from China, examining whether the substantial damage caused by the import of the involved products to the domestic industry in the United States will continue or occur again within a reasonable foreseeable period if the current anti-dumping and countervailing measures are lifted. Stakeholders shall register their responses with the US Department of Commerce within 10 days from the date of this announcement. Stakeholders should submit their response to the US International Trade Commission by February 2, 2026, and provide their comments on the adequacy of the response no later than March 16, 2026.

On November 4, 2020, the US Department of Commerce made its first anti-dumping fast sunset review final ruling on passenger car and light truck tires imported from China. On November 9, 2020, the US Department of Commerce made its first countervailing fast sunset review final ruling on passenger car and light truck tires imported from China.
