Turkey's merchandise export value hits a new high in 2025

Xinhua News Agency, Istanbul, January 3rd (Reporter Wang Tengfei) - Turkish President Erdogan stated on the 3rd that Turkey's export value of goods in 2025 increased by 4.5% compared to the previous year, reaching a record high of $273.4 billion.

Speaking at an event held at the Istanbul Convention Center on the same day, Erdogan said that the total export value of Turkish goods and services is expected to reach $396.5 billion in 2025. The Turkish automotive industry has shown strong performance, with an annual output of about 1.5 million vehicles and export value exceeding $41 billion. Turkey has become the fourth largest automobile manufacturing base in Europe and the 12th largest automobile producer globally.

He also mentioned that the export value of Turkey's defense industry has seen a significant increase, rising from $248 million in 2002 to $9.87 billion in 2025.

Erdogan stated that Turkey's export target for 2026 is $410 billion, with goods exports accounting for $282 billion and services exports for $128 billion.
