Recently, the Hong Kong Zhuhai Macao Bridge Customs under the jurisdiction of Gongbei Customs seized a cross-border driver who used a modified vehicle to hide 76 old mobile phones in a hidden compartment.
At around 11:00 on January 6th, customs officers discovered abnormal machine inspection images of a Guangdong Hong Kong license plate passenger car while monitoring the entry passenger car passage at the Zhuhai Highway Port of the Hong Kong Zhuhai Macao Bridge. After further inspection, the customs officers first seized 26 hidden old phones in the battery compartment of the modified car, and then seized 50 hidden old phones in the box installed behind the firewall in the center console of the car, totaling 76 hidden old phones. The driver confessed to hiding smuggling activities and admitted to charging labor fees.
