New Year's fresh arrival! The first imported Russian king crab from Damaiyu Port in 2026 has successfully cleared customs

On January 9th, the "Ostock" ship carrying 92.5 tons of Russian king crabs slowly docked at the Damaiyu Port Area of Taizhou Port and successfully completed customs clearance procedures under the efficient supervision of the Taizhou Customs Office in Yuhuan. This is the first ship of imported fresh aquatic products to arrive at Damaiyu Port at the beginning of the new year in 2026, marking the beginning of the port's characteristic fresh food import business for the new year.
At present, it is the peak consumption season at the end of the year and the beginning of the year. The demand for high-end fresh seafood in the Yangtze River Delta region continues to rise, and imported seafood such as king crab has become a popular category in the market. As the only port in Taizhou with designated supervision sites for imported aquatic animals, Damaiyu Port is positioned as a "characteristic port for the collection and distribution of agricultural and aquatic products", fully leveraging the advantages of deep-water ports and cold chain warehousing facilities, accurately matching market demand, and fully ensuring the rapid clearance and entry of the first batch of imported king crabs into the market in the new year.
The import of fresh seafood is all about timeliness. The first ship of the new year can clear customs so quickly, which gives us more confidence in our business development this year! "Said Hong Fangkuan, General Manager of Taizhou Haitong Cold Chain Trading Co., Ltd." The early docking and efficient inspection of customs not only ensured the freshness of the king crabs, but also enabled this batch of goods to be put on shelves in time for the peak consumption season, greatly enhancing market competitiveness
In response to the demand for customs clearance of the first ship in the new year, the Taizhou Customs Office in Yuhuan has planned ahead and made precise efforts to implement the reform requirements of "optimal service, lowest cost, and highest efficiency", and established a "one ship, one policy" guarantee plan. Through measures such as early docking of shipping schedules, online pre review materials, and "7 × 24 hours" all-weather customs clearance, we have coordinated with border inspection, maritime and other departments to implement "parallel inspection", optimize and integrate the traditional "serial" process, and achieve "immediate inspection upon arrival, immediate release and immediate pickup" after the ship docks. The entire inspection time is shortened by more than 60% compared to the conventional process, ensuring that the king crab completes customs clearance and circulation within the "golden preservation period".
With the support of the International Fresh Cold Chain Center, this batch of Russian king crabs that have been cleared through customs will be sent to core cities in the Yangtze River Delta, such as Hangzhou, Ningbo, and Shanghai, through the "port direct storage+rapid distribution" model, effectively enriching the "basket of vegetables" for citizens and injecting new vitality into the regional catering consumption market. As an important import port for agricultural and aquatic products in China, the import volume of bulk agricultural and aquatic products at Damaiyu Port has reached 28800 tons by 2025, with the import business of agricultural and aquatic products such as king crabs and kiwifruit achieving normalized development.
We will continue to deepen regulatory services, rely on the achievements of the 'Smart Customs' construction, further improve customs clearance facilitation measures such as' early declaration' and 'ship side direct pickup', strengthen the collaborative supervision efficiency of multiple departments, and contribute customs strength to the stable and smooth supply chain of imported fresh food in the Yangtze River Delta region and the improvement of Taizhou's level of opening up to the outside world with better services and higher efficiency, "said Yang Ben, Deputy Director of the Second Business Department of Taizhou Customs Office in Yuhuan.
