On January 8th, at the customs supervision site in Sierda, Wenzhou, two TIR trucks loaded with blankets and other goods were ready to depart for Russia. This is the tenth and eleventh TIR exported by Wenzhou since 2026, and also the 229th and 230th TIR special vehicles shipped since the implementation of TIR business in Wenzhou, continuously demonstrating the activity and influence of the southern Zhejiang region in the field of international road transportation.
TIR is an international cross-border road transport logistics model based on the provisions of the United Nations Convention on International Road Transport. Compared with traditional road transport, TIR achieves one-time declaration and direct transportation by one vehicle throughout the entire process. Vehicles holding TIR certificates and approved can easily pass through customs between TIR contracting countries. This transportation strengthens regional cooperation and information sharing, which helps to improve the efficiency and safety level of regional logistics clearance, and better promote the efficient operation of the Jinliwen Open Channel.
Since the implementation of the first TIR route in the province in December 2024, the TIR operation network in Wenzhou has continuously expanded and the business model has continued to innovate. At present, new business models such as "TIR+Market Procurement" and "TIR+9610" have been successfully opened, with a total of 16 TIR routes to four countries including Russia, Belarus, Uzbekistan, and Turkmenistan. The total value of goods exceeds 155 million yuan, gradually forming a new pattern of international road transportation covering Central Asia and Europe.
The smooth launch of TIR vehicles in the first week of the 2026 New Year is not only a good start for the TIR business in Wenzhou, but also a powerful manifestation of the continuous enhancement of the international logistics hub function in the southern Zhejiang region.
