Recently, Qingdao Dagang Customs, a subsidiary of Qingdao Customs, seized 26.4 kilograms of imported plant seeds illegally carried by passengers through the port's inbound travel inspection channel.

During the supervision of inbound passengers' luggage, customs officers found that the image of the luggage carried by one passenger was abnormal, showing a large number of small granular items. After unpacking and inspection, a large number of plant seeds were found in the passenger's luggage, totaling 21 bags and weighing 26.4 kilograms. According to laboratory identification, this batch of plant seeds includes three types: soybean, radish, and barley.

According to the "List of Animals, Plants, Their Products, and Other Quarantine Items Prohibited from Carrying or Sending into the People's Republic of China", seeds, seedlings, and other plants, plant products, and materials with reproductive ability are prohibited from being carried or sent into the country. At present, the customs have destroyed the batch of seeds. (Hu Xiao/Text)
