On December 15th, 1 ton of Benin pineapple was transported by flight to Changsha Airport Port, marking Hunan's first import of this product. This batch of pineapples was shipped from the local airport in Benin, transferred through Ethiopia, and arrived in Changsha, taking a total of 17 hours. After passing the customs inspection at Changsha Huanghua Airport, it will be cleared and released on the same day.
The person in charge of Hunan Zhongjianda International Trade Co., Ltd., an importer, introduced that the imported variety this time is "Sweet Bread" pineapple, which is Benin's first geographical indication product certified by the African Intellectual Property Organization. It looks like a water droplet, has white flesh, and outstanding sweetness. This batch of pineapples will be sold in domestic chain supermarkets and fruit stores.
To ensure the import of Benin's "sweet bread" pineapple, Changsha Huanghua Airport Customs relies on the "Youxian Customs Clearance" studio to provide full process services for import enterprises, including policy consultation, procedure approval, and customs clearance guarantee. They formulate regulatory plans in advance and track flight dynamics in real time. After the goods arrive at the port, the on-site customs officers immediately check the labels, quarantine certificates and other certificates, inspect the packaging and fruit appearance, and achieve rapid release. At the same time, this batch of imported pineapples enjoys the preferential policy of "zero tariffs", effectively reducing costs for enterprises.
According to statistics, in the first 11 months of 2025, Hunan Province imported 460 million yuan of African agricultural products, a year-on-year increase of 19.4%. (Yang Fan, Lin Jun/text)
