The Ministry of Commerce held a video conference to promote the pilot work deployment of new consumer formats, models, and scenarios

Recently, the General Office of the Ministry of Commerce and the General Office of the Ministry of Finance issued a notice on the pilot work of new consumer formats, new models, and new scenarios, and launched pilot projects for new consumer formats, new models, and new scenarios in 50 cities including Beijing (hereinafter referred to as the "three new" pilot projects). On December 17th, the Ministry of Commerce, together with the Ministry of Finance, held a meeting to promote the deployment of the "Three New" pilot work, implement the spirit of the Fourth Plenary Session of the 20th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and the Central Economic Work Conference, and promote the solid promotion of pilot work in local areas. Comrade Yan Dong, Vice Minister of Commerce, attended the meeting and delivered a speech.

The meeting pointed out that carrying out the "Three New" pilot work is an important measure to implement the "Special Action Plan for Boosting Consumption" and expand the supply of high-quality goods and services. Relevant local commerce authorities should deeply understand the significance of carrying out the "Three New" pilot work, accurately grasp the positioning of the pilot work, adhere to the combination of promoting consumption and benefiting people's livelihood, be the vanguard of the reform of the consumption system and mechanism, stimulate the development vitality of new business forms, new models and new scenarios through reform, opening up and innovation, create a new highland for innovative development of consumption, and cultivate a new engine for improving consumption level.

The meeting emphasized that each pilot city should further improve the implementation plan, establish and improve the work promotion and guarantee mechanism, promptly introduce the management measures for pilot funds (projects), closely follow the direction of "three new" pilot support, carefully screen support projects, and strengthen project dynamic management. Strengthen publicity and guidance, encourage active participation from all sectors of society, and enhance the consumption driving effect of pilot support projects. The commercial authorities in pilot cities should play a leading and coordinating role, promote the resolution of the bottlenecks and pain points faced by the pilot, and ensure the effectiveness of the pilot work.

Officials from relevant departments and bureaus of the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, and the General Administration of Sport attended the meeting and delivered speeches. Pilot cities such as Suzhou, Hangzhou, Xiamen, and Kunming made exchange speeches. Comrades in charge of commerce, finance and other relevant departments of provinces, autonomous regions, municipalities directly under the central government, and cities specifically designated in the state plan attended the meeting at the sub venue.
