Brazil extends anti-dumping investigation period on glass fiber related to China
On December 5, 2025, the Secretariat of Foreign Trade of the Brazilian Ministry of Development, Industry, Trade and Services (Minist é rio do Desenvolvimento, Ind ú stria, Com é rcio e Servi ç os/Secretaria de Com é rcio Exterior) issued Announcement No. 96 of 2025, extending the ban on glass fibers originating from China and Egypt (Portuguese: fibras de vidro, tipo E e/ou E-CR, em filamentos ligeiramente torcidos (roving), dedensidade linear igual ou superior a 100 g/km) The deadline for the anti-dumping investigation shall be extended to 18 months from the date of filing the case.
On August 6, 2025, the Foreign Trade Secretariat of the Brazilian Ministry of Development, Industry, Trade and Services issued Announcement No. 60 of 2025, initiating an anti-dumping investigation on glass fibers originating in China and Egypt, in response to an application submitted by Brazilian domestic enterprise Owens Corning Fiberglas A.S. Ltda on October 31, 2024. Description of the product involved: E-type and/or E-CR type glass fiber, using slightly twisted long filaments (rovings) with a linear density equal to or greater than 100g/km. The tax number of the product involved in the case is 7019.12.90 in Nanjing. The dumping investigation period of the case is from July 2023 to June 2024, and the injury investigation period is from July 2019 to June 2024. The announcement shall come into effect from the date of publication.
