South Korea imposes anti-dumping duties on Thai particleboard

On December 5, 2025, the South Korean Ministry of Planning and Finance issued Order No. 1147, officially imposing anti-dumping duties on particle boards originating in Thailand. The tax rates for Thai producers/exporters Metro Particle Co., Ltd. and Metro Industrial Park Co., Ltd. and their exporters are 13.03%, Green River Panels Trang Thailand Co., Ltd. and its affiliates and its exporters are 13.67%, Vanachai Group and its affiliates and its exporters are 15.18%, and other Thai producers/exporters are 14.28%. The measures will take effect from the date of announcement and are valid for five years. This case involves products under the Korean tax number 4410.11.1000, but the surface coated particle board is not subject to the above-mentioned anti-dumping duties.

On December 16, 2024, South Korea initiated an anti-dumping investigation into particleboard originating from Thailand. On April 24, 2025, South Korea made a preliminary positive ruling on the case, recommending the imposition of temporary anti-dumping duties ranging from 11.82% to 17.19% on the products involved. On July 4, 2025, the South Korean Ministry of Planning and Finance decided to impose a temporary anti-dumping duty on Thai particleboard for a period of four months, effective until November 3, 2025. On September 25, 2025, South Korea made a positive final ruling on the case, recommending that the South Korean Ministry of Planning and Finance impose anti-dumping duties on the products involved.
