China News Service: Shanghai Customs Archives Work Helps the CIIE to Get Better and Better

The 8th China International Import Expo is about to kick off. Behind this economic and trade event, customs archivists use paper as a medium and "numbers" as empowerment, recording the process of opening archives one by one and building service bridges with sets of data.
According to relevant personnel from Shanghai Customs, since 2018, the important work scenarios of each CIIE have been safely, completely, and systematically recorded and archived through the customs' "pre collection+full follow-up" archive work mode. Since the first CIIE, a total of 97 document archives, 462 photo archives, 113 audio-visual archives, and 37 physical archives have been archived. These files are the "three-dimensional memory bank" of the process of customs service entering the Expo.
Archives are not only the "recorders" of the past, but also the "advisers" for continuous innovation. By studying various data from previous archives, the Exhibition Customs under Shanghai Customs has refined measures such as optimizing customs clearance processes, expanding tax incentives, and simplifying approval and admission procedures to support 74 batches of animal and plant products and food from 12 countries to make their debut in China at the CIIE; Pioneering the "Jinbo Huizhan" system, achieving intensive operation of the entire exhibition supervision chain and precise management of "one exhibition, one policy". On the basis of strict risk control, the overall clearance time of exhibits has been reduced by 50%; Explore the implementation of a "center+on-site" exhibition intelligent supervision model that links the supervision command center with on-site operations, develop the "CIIE Online" platform, and achieve full process visual control of exhibition clearance, exhibition hall supervision, and other links.
In the first seven editions of the CIIE, the exhibition customs supervised a total of 3395 batches of exhibits, with a total value of 253 million US dollars. The rich and diverse archives of the CIIE not only record the real scene of customs supervision services at the CIIE, but also witness China's achievements in expanding opening-up and promoting trade facilitation from the unique perspective of customs.
The 8th China International Import Expo is about to kick off, and the Huangpu River will welcome guests from all over the world. Customs will continue to use the "pre collection, full empowerment" mode to complete the archival record work of this year's China International Import Expo with high quality.
