The kiln fire is booming, and the "Chinese style" is blowing hot ceramics out of the sea

According to statistics from Nanjing Customs, the export value of ceramic products in Jiangsu Province reached 6.57 billion yuan in the first 10 months of this year, a year-on-year increase of 10.6%. Among them, the export value of daily-use ceramics increased by 14.1% year-on-year.

On November 21st, the production workshop of Taiyi Ceramics (Yixing) Co., Ltd. was bustling with activity. In the first 10 months of this year, the value of our exported ceramic tableware increased significantly, and the price advantage brought by tariff reductions gave us more confidence in the international market, "said Wu Yanqiu, the head of the company's foreign trade.

Faced with intensified international market competition and changes in trade rules, enterprises have faced challenges in policy adaptation and other aspects. Yixing Customs, under the jurisdiction of Nanjing Customs, focuses on the implementation of free trade agreements such as RCEP, guiding enterprises to fully enjoy policy dividends and enhance product market competitiveness. According to statistics, from January to October this year, Yixing Customs issued over 978 certificates of origin for ceramic import and export enterprises in its jurisdiction, with a total value of 220 million yuan, an increase of 6.8% and 22.2% year-on-year.

At the same time, the rise of digital trade platforms not only injects new momentum into traditional ceramic exports, but also opens up new channels for small and medium-sized enterprises to access international markets. Ceramic products are our export advantage, characterized by delicacy, smoothness, and rich styles, and have always been popular among overseas customers, "said Zhao Junhui, owner of Gedengfu Department Store in Mocheng Street, Changshu City." Since we have the 'Market Procurement' platform, we have also equipped ourselves with digital wings, allowing goods to fly higher and farther

In 2019, Changshu Clothing City launched a comprehensive service platform for market procurement and trade enterprises called "City Procurement Tong". The platform connects multiple departments such as customs and commerce to integrate regulatory services such as enterprise access and remote loading supervision with export services such as consolidation and export customs clearance. From January to October this year, the export of ceramic products from Changshu region through market procurement trade reached 257 million US dollars, a year-on-year increase of 76%.

Next, Nanjing Customs will continue to focus on the demand for characteristic industries such as ceramics, further cultivate new driving forces for foreign trade development, and help more "Made in China" to smoothly enter the international market. (Qian Jiayu, Cheng Lin, Wu Mingjie, Ni Hao/text)
