All ingredients for athletes from the Hong Kong and Macau competition areas for the 15th National Games and Paralympic Games have been dispatched

This marks the release of all food supplies for athletes from the Hong Kong and Macau regions for the 15th National Games and Paralympic Games.

To ensure the safety and efficient supply of ingredients for the competition, the Executive Committee of the Guangdong Division of the 15th National Games and the Paralympic Games will coordinate and organize the establishment of a full chain food safety and foodborne stimulant control system from the source, to specialized warehouses, and to athletes' dining tables for six major categories of ingredients (including animal meat and its products, poultry meat and its products, aquatic products and their products, eggs and their products, dairy products, seasonings and spices) supplied to athletes, implement batch testing for food safety and stimulants, and ensure the safety, reliability, and stability of related ingredient supply. The regional food warehouse located in Guangzhou is not only responsible for ensuring the supply of ingredients for athletes in Guangzhou and seven sister cities in Guangdong Province, but also for the supply of ingredients for athletes in Hong Kong and Macau as requested by the Hong Kong and Macau regional coordination offices and the Macau regional preparation office.

Since the countdown to the opening of the Paralympic Games, the food safety guarantee tasks of the Guangzhou athletes' food area warehouse have continued to increase. Guangzhou Customs actively strengthens communication and coordination with the Hong Kong Zone Coordination Office and the Macao Zone Preparation Office, proactively follows up with warehouse entry and exit plans, and guides enterprises to optimize declaration batches and arrange logistics reasonably. At the same time, inspections will be carried out on the inventory of food supplies for athletes in the Hong Kong and Macau competition areas. In accordance with the special supervision plan approved by the General Administration of Customs, strict food management will be implemented to ensure the safety of food supplies while maximizing the convenience of efficient customs clearance for athletes in the Hong Kong and Macau competition areas.

Wang Jun, Deputy Director of the Field Department of Tianhe Customs under Guangzhou Customs, introduced that since the first batch of food supplies for athletes in Hong Kong and Macau for the 15th National Games and Paralympics were sent out on September 29th, as of December 3rd, a total of 21 batches with a total weight of 284 tons of food supplies have been sent out from the Guangzhou regional warehouse, including 149.1 tons for the Hong Kong region and 134.9 tons for the Macau region, mainly including meat, aquatic products, dairy products, eggs, seasonings, and snacks.

The customs actively explore and promote the connection of rules and mechanisms in the Guangdong Hong Kong Macao Greater Bay Area, proactively liaise with the Guangdong Regional Executive Committee, the Hong Kong Regional Coordination Office, and the Macao Regional Preparatory Office, and carry out 'information exchange, regulatory mutual recognition, and law enforcement assistance' in facilitating the clearance of food for athletes during competitions.
