The China Ecuador Free Trade Commission held its first meeting

On December 4th, the first meeting of the China Ecuador Free Trade Commission was held via video conference. At the meeting, both sides summarized the implementation of the China Ecuador Free Trade Agreement and unanimously agreed that the implementation effect of the agreement is good. Both sides also adopted the procedural rules of the Free Trade Commission and had in-depth exchanges of views on issues of common concern, such as trade in goods, rules of origin, sanitary and phytosanitary measures, cooperation in the digital field, and cooperation with trade remedy investigation agencies.

The China Ecuador Free Trade Agreement was signed in May 2023 and officially came into effect in May 2024.
