Vietnam launches anti-dumping sunset review investigation on Chinese sorbitol

On November 20, 2025, the Vietnamese Ministry of Industry and Trade issued Announcement No. 3377/QD-BCT, stating that at the request of Vietnamese manufacturers, an anti-dumping sunset review investigation has been initiated on sorbitol originating from China, India, and Indonesia. The Vietnamese tax numbers of the products involved are 2905.44.00 and 3824.60.00.

On December 11, 2020, the Vietnamese Ministry of Industry and Trade launched an anti-dumping investigation into the import of sorbitol from China, Indonesia, and India. On July 6, 2021, the Vietnamese Ministry of Industry and Trade made a preliminary positive ruling on the case, preliminarily deciding to impose temporary anti-dumping duties of 39.63% to 68.50% on the products involved in the above-mentioned countries. On November 23, 2021, the Vietnamese Ministry of Industry and Trade made a positive final ruling on the products involved in the above-mentioned countries, officially imposing a five-year anti-dumping duty on the products involved. Among them, the tax rate for Chinese manufacturer Shandong Tianli Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. and its trading partner Shandong Lianmeng International Trade Co., Ltd. is 44.99%, and for other Chinese manufacturers/traders it is 68.50%.
