On November 20th, 49 tons of Chilean cherries were successfully cleared under the supervision of customs officers at the designated comprehensive supervision site of the Zhuhai Highway Port of the Hong Kong Zhuhai Macao Bridge. This is the first fresh fruit imported through Daqiao Port after Gongbei Customs and Hong Kong Customs signed the Memorandum of Cooperation on Inspection, Quarantine and Supervision of Transit Imported Air Fruits on November 18, marking a new breakthrough in the cross-border fresh logistics channel of the Guangdong Hong Kong Macao Greater Bay Area.
The batch of fresh cherries was picked from Chilean orchards, transferred by air, and transported to Hong Kong airport. Leveraging the "Air Land Fresh Products Exclusive Express Line" of the Hong Kong Zhuhai Macao Bridge, they were transported by cold chain trucks for customs clearance and entry. Our fresh products can all be transferred through this express line at Hong Kong airport, and can enter Zhuhai in less than an hour, ensuring the freshness of fruits and other fresh products to the greatest extent possible, "said Zhou Shouming, the customs manager of Shanghai Ouheng Supply Chain Group Co., Ltd. The transportation hub advantage of the bridge makes cross-border fresh logistics" fast "the top priority, with the fastest travel time from Chilean orchards to domestic dining tables not exceeding 30 hours.
After the comprehensive designated supervision site of the Bridge Port is officially put into operation, the customs will optimize the supervision mode, open up a 'cold chain fast track', and ensure priority inspection of fresh products such as fruits, "said Li Qi, the head of the Customs Supervision Department of the Hong Kong Zhuhai Macao Bridge. At the same time, we proactively connect with enterprises, grasp flight dynamics, cargo information, and transportation plans, implement 24-hour appointment customs clearance services, and quickly inspect and release fresh fruits while ensuring safety, achieving seamless connection between air and land transportation and greatly improving the efficiency of customs clearance for fresh fruits and other fresh products
