Fujian's ship exports surged by 45.4% in the first three quarters

According to Xiamen Customs statistics, in the first three quarters of this year, Fujian exported ships worth 15.17 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 45.4%, and the export scale reached a new historical high for the same period. Among them, exports in September amounted to 1.99 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 69%, maintaining a double-digit growth rate for seven consecutive months.
In this impressive achievement, bulk carriers, as the main variety of ships exported by Fujian, have performed the most outstandingly among many types of ships. According to customs data, in the first three quarters, Fujian exported bulk cargo ships worth 5.71 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 9.5%, accounting for nearly 40% of the province's total ship export value during the same period. During the same period, liquid cargo ships became a hot selling variety for Fujian's ship exports, with a total export value of 2.44 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 54 times, accounting for 16.1% of the province's total ship export value during the same period.
From the perspective of export markets, Fujian's shipbuilding industry has formed a diversified pattern of combining traditional and emerging markets. According to officials from Xiamen Customs, ASEAN is the main market for Fujian's ship exports. In the first three quarters, Fujian exported ships worth 4.57 billion yuan to ASEAN, a year-on-year increase of 4.5 times, accounting for about 30% of the province's total ship exports during the same period; Emerging markets such as Latin America and the Middle East have become hot selling markets for Fujian's ship exports. In the first three quarters, Fujian exported ships to Latin America and the Middle East worth 2.03 billion yuan and 1.16 billion yuan respectively, a year-on-year increase of 1 times and 22%, accounting for a total of 21%; During the same period, Fujian exported ships worth 2.61 billion yuan to traditional markets such as the European Union and Hong Kong, a year-on-year increase of 2.8%, accounting for 17.2%.
At the same time, behind the excellent export performance, there is also the full release of vitality from various business entities. According to statistics, state-owned enterprises are the main operators of ship exports. In the first three quarters, Fujian's state-owned enterprises exported ships worth 12.71 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 32.9%, accounting for over 80% of the province's total ship export value during the same period. During the same period, private enterprises and foreign-invested enterprises performed outstandingly, exporting ships worth 2.33 billion yuan and 130 million yuan respectively, a significant increase of 1.8 times and 1.9 times year-on-year.
