Kunming Türkiye International Freight New Route Successfully Launched

On November 18, a batch of cross-border e-commerce goods weighing 56.5 tons departed from the Kunming Comprehensive Bonded Zone and flew to Istanbul, Türkiye, by freight flight through Kunming Changshui International Airport, marking the official departure of the regular international freight route from Kunming to Türkiye.

Each cargo plane of this route can carry about 55 to 60 tons of cargo. It is planned to operate four flights a week. After arriving in Istanbul, Türkiye, it can transfer to Madrid, Spain, London, the United Kingdom, Amsterdam, the Netherlands and other cities, mainly carrying cross-border e-commerce goods destined for the European market. This newly opened route is the first regular all cargo flight from Kunming Changshui International Airport to the European continent, and also the airport's first regular international cross-border e-commerce freight line.

Kunming Changshui Airport Customs continues to optimize the business environment at the port, supporting Kunming Changshui International Airport to accelerate the construction of an international air cargo network that radiates South Asia and Southeast Asia, connects the world, and helps Yunnan expand its high-level opening-up to the outside world. We have tailored a customized appointment customs clearance supervision and protection plan for the new route. In response to the high logistics efficiency requirements of cross-border e-commerce, we have optimized the inspection and release process of transit goods, strengthened on-site customs supervision, and achieved the goal of 'handling goods as soon as they arrive and releasing them as qualified', fully ensuring the smooth sailing and stable operation of the new route, "said Xiao Jun, head of the Customs Supervision Department at Kunming Changshui Airport.

The opening of new air routes promotes the upgrading and expansion of the logistics hub at Kunming Changshui International Airport, and builds an efficient and convenient "Air Silk Road" between Southwest China and the Eurasian continent, injecting new momentum into regional economic and trade exchanges.

As of now, Kunming Changshui International Airport has opened 9 international all cargo flight routes, covering important air transportation nodes in South Asia, Southeast Asia, and Europe. According to statistics, as of November 18, 2025, Kunming Changshui Airport Customs has supervised 66000 tons of inbound and outbound goods, a year-on-year increase of 35.3%, and the vitality of the "air economy" has burst forth.
