The Ministry of Commerce: China Firmly Opposes the UK's Sanctions on Chinese Enterprises on the Pretext of Russia
BEIJING, Oct. 27 (Xinhua) -- A spokesperson for the Ministry of Commerce said on the 27th in response to a journalist's question regarding the UK's sanctions on 11 Chinese enterprises on the pretext of Russia that China firmly opposes the UK's listing measures against these Chinese enterprises.
A reporter asked: On October 15th, the British Foreign Office announced a new round of sanctions against Russia, among which 11 Chinese enterprises were sanctioned. What is China's comment on this?
The spokesperson said that on the Ukraine crisis, China has always strictly controlled the export of dual-use items in accordance with laws and regulations. Normal exchanges and cooperation between Chinese and Russian enterprises should not be disturbed or affected. The UK's approach is unilateral sanctions without international law basis or UN authorization. Despite China's representations and the good momentum of the development of China-UK economic and trade relations, the UK insists on listing Chinese enterprises, which has a negative impact on China-UK economic and trade relations. China urges the UK to correct its wrong做法 immediately from the perspective of maintaining the overall situation of China-UK economic and trade cooperation and revoke the sanctions against the relevant Chinese entities. China will resolutely safeguard the legitimate rights and interests of Chinese enterprises.
