Jointly safeguard the hard won negotiation achievements (bell ringing)

On October 25-26 local time, China and the United States held a new round of economic and trade consultations in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Both sides have conducted frank, in-depth, and constructive exchanges and consultations on a series of important economic and trade issues, guided by the important consensus reached in the previous phone calls between the two heads of state since the beginning of this year, and reached basic consensus on arrangements to address their respective concerns. This achievement is not easy to come by, and it once again demonstrates that it is normal for China and the United States to have differences in economic and trade issues. However, as long as we sit down and talk, uphold equal consultation and constructive positions, we can completely handle our differences and find the right way to get along.

The current round of economic and trade consultations between China and the United States covers a wide range of topics, including the US 301 measures on maritime logistics and shipbuilding to China, the extension of the equivalent tariff suspension period, fentanyl tariffs and law enforcement cooperation, agricultural product trade, export controls, etc. These are important economic and trade issues of common concern to both sides and also affect the stability of the global supply chain. Both parties agree to further determine specific details and follow their respective domestic approval procedures. On these issues, both China and the United States have their own long-term interests and concerns, but neither side has been blinded by the problems. Instead, they are guided by problem-solving, insisting on playing the role of the economic and trade consultation mechanism, continuing to engage in equal dialogue and consultation, creating conditions for the final resolution of the problems, helping to alleviate concerns of all parties, and bringing benefits to the development of both sides and the world economy.

The most important thing in resolving differences and promoting cooperation between China and the United States is to implement the important consensus reached by the two heads of state.   It is under the important consensus guidance of the two heads of state that the economic and trade teams of both sides have held five rounds of consultations and reached a positive consensus. This fully demonstrates that to ensure that the two giant ships of China and the United States move forward together without deviation or stalling, we must adhere to the strategic guidance of the two heads of state without wavering, implement the important consensus of the two heads of state without compromising, and adhere to the three principles of mutual respect, peaceful coexistence, and win-win cooperation without relaxing.

The essence of the economic and trade relationship between China and the United States is mutual benefit and win-win. If both sides cooperate, they benefit; if they fight, they both suffer. This is a truth that has been repeatedly verified by the development of bilateral relations over the past few decades. Maintaining the stable development of China US economic and trade relations is in line with the fundamental interests of both countries and their peoples, as well as the expectations of the international community. Looking back at these 5 rounds of negotiations, every positive signal emanating from the venue has brought valuable warmth to the global market. As a responsible major country, China has demonstrated the determination and wisdom of a great power. It has always advocated that China and the United States should demonstrate a broad vision and great responsibility, and has always opposed "decoupling and disconnection" to jointly maintain the security and stability of the global supply chain. The US has repeatedly stated that it has no intention of decoupling from China and that the US China economic and trade relationship is the most influential bilateral relationship in the world. Since there is this consensus, both sides should move towards each other, cherish the results of every consultation, continuously accumulate mutual trust, manage differences, and promote stable and far-reaching Sino US economic and trade relations on the track of mutually beneficial cooperation.

On the road to modernization, China insists on expanding high-level opening up, which will provide more opportunities for countries around the world, including the United States. The recently concluded Fourth Plenary Session of the 20th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China has reviewed and approved the "15th Five Year Plan" proposal, outlining China's development blueprint for the next five years. From a long-term perspective, China's realization of socialist modernization is a historical process of step-by-step progression and continuous development and progress. By persisting in seeking progress while maintaining stability, China can respond to any external challenges with the certainty of its own development. The plenary session proposed to steadily expand institutional opening up, maintain the multilateral trading system, expand international circulation, promote reform and development through opening up, and share opportunities and common development with countries around the world. The international community generally believes that in the current era of uncertainty, China has demonstrated strategic foresight and strong stability by formulating and implementing medium - and long-term plans, injecting valuable certainty into global development.

The results of the negotiations are hard won and need to be jointly maintained by both sides. China and the United States have the ability and wisdom to find a way to coexist and prosper together. When dialogue replaces confrontation and cooperation transcends differences, China and the United States can find appropriate solutions to each other's concerns, promote healthy, stable, and sustainable development of China US economic and trade relations, and bring more benefits to the people of both countries and the world.
