The annual average growth of import and export scale has exceeded 24%, radiating 19 countries and regions such as Laos and Thailand. There are more than 3900 kinds of import and export goods, serving more than 7000 enterprises nationwide. Data shows that in the first eight months of 2026, imports of tropical fruits in Southeast Asia such as durian, mangosteen and longan via the China Laos railway amounted to 5.26 billion yuan, up 12.4% year on year. As of October 7, China Laos Railway had imported more than 16 billion yuan of tropical fruits from Southeast Asia. Railway cold chain transportation and port clearance facilitation promote faster integration of "Southeast Asian orchards" with "Chinese dining tables".

At the same time, the export proportion of high value-added and high-tech products such as smartphones, industrial robots, new energy vehicles, and components continues to increase. In the first eight months, the value of electromechanical products exported through the China Laos railway was 7.42 billion yuan, up 58.4% year on year. Among them, the export of the "new three types" of foreign trade reached 2.73 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 245.2%. The two-way trade pattern of "Southeast Asian specialties heading north and Chinese intelligent manufacturing heading south" is accelerating.
