Flights are flying farther and logistics are getting faster

Logistics connects production and consumption, domestic and foreign trade. Since the beginning of this year, international freight routes at various air ports have been continuously encrypted, combined with convenient customs clearance measures, making the flow of logistics factors more active and smooth, promoting the continuous enhancement of the resilience and stability of the global industrial and supply chains. From the perspective of channel connectivity and economic vitality through customs clearance efficiency, the window for China to open up to the world in both directions is becoming wider and wider.

Wuhu Xuanzhou Airport

The implementation of the "air side direct access" mode

Recently, a batch of export goods weighing 4.2 tons was air freighted from Wuhan to Wuhu Xuanzhou Airport. Under the supervision of Wuhu Customs, which is under the jurisdiction of Hefei Customs, this batch of goods was directly transferred from the domestic cargo terminal unloading area of the airport to the international cargo terminal departure channel through the airside area, without the need for further customs declaration, and can be taken on a flight to Dhaka, Bangladesh. This marks the landing of the "airside through" mode at Wuhu Xuanzhou Airport, and also signifies the opening of the "Wuhan Wuhu Dhaka" all cargo flight route.

The "Airside Direct Access" mode is an important measure taken by customs to support cross-border trade facilitation. For goods that arrive at air ports through domestic flights and are planned for export, under customs supervision, they can be seamlessly transferred directly from the domestic cargo terminal warehouse area to the international cargo terminal departure area through the airside area inside the airport. This model connects the fast track of export goods from domestic cargo stations to international cargo stations, eliminating traditional processes such as picking up goods at domestic cargo stations, short distance road transportation, entering and exiting warehouses at international cargo stations, and secondary security checks. It reduces the number of times goods are handed over, shortens customs clearance time, lowers logistics costs for enterprises, and effectively improves the efficiency of air port cargo transfer.

In the traditional mode, domestic goods need to go through four handovers and two security checks to transfer to international cargo stations, which takes 2 to 3 hours. In the 'air side through' mode, the transfer time is compressed to within 30 minutes, saving about 30% of ground short haul costs, "said Zhang Jing, project manager of Shenzhen Haodong Multimodal Transport Co., Ltd." Logistics operation costs are reduced, route selection space is expanded, and particularly urgent overseas orders are also accepted

Wuhu Customs has established a multi-party linkage mechanism with airlines, airport operators, foreign trade enterprises, etc. to achieve real-time synchronization of cargo logistics, document flow, and data flow, ensuring that the entire process is interconnected. Relying on the 'air side direct transportation' model, the 'Wuhan Wuhu Dhaka' all cargo flight route has been successfully connected, opening up a new air channel for the export of goods from the central region. The relevant person in charge of Wuhu Customs stated that they will continue to innovate the supervision mode, make good use of the 'air side direct transportation' supervision mode of air ports in addition to multimodal transport businesses such as' air to air transit 'and' air land intermodal transport ', continuously optimize the port business environment, and support the development of the' Air Silk Road '.
