The normalized operation of the China Europe Arctic Express route has resulted in an export value of over 2.7 billion yuan after one month
Recently, with the slow departure of the "Aden Fortress" ship from Zhoushan Port in Ningbo, the China Europe Arctic Express route has steadily shipped 5 flights, with a total of 4345 TEUs of goods shipped. Since its official upgrade to stable weekly regular operation on August 15th this year, this low-carbon and high-speed logistics channel, built on the Arctic Northeast Passage, connects Ningbo Zhoushan Port to core European ports such as the UK and Germany, compressing the cargo transportation journey to 20 days and opening up a new overseas path for foreign trade enterprises.
It is reported that since the normalization of airline operations, the export value of goods has exceeded 2.7 billion yuan, mainly including energy storage cabinets and supporting accessories, power batteries, new energy vehicles, etc., mainly exported to more than 20 countries such as the United Kingdom, Germany, and the Czech Republic.
The low-temperature natural cold chain of the Arctic route can effectively ensure the safety of goods, and the transportation cycle is halved compared to the Suez Canal route, effectively solving the two major problems of long-distance transportation of new energy batteries and allowing us to seize the European market faster, "said Chen Haijian, the head of the export supply chain of Linyang Energy.
To ensure the smooth operation of shipping routes, Ningbo Customs continues to deepen the reform of cross-border trade facilitation, relying on the achievements of smart customs construction, actively creating a good customs clearance environment, and proactively connecting with shipping companies, docks, and shipping enterprises to improve regulatory service plans and ensure smooth customs clearance of ships. In addition, in order to unleash the advantage of route efficiency, Ningbo Customs has fully implemented various cross-border trade facilitation measures, effectively reducing the time for goods circulation.
While leveraging efficiency advantages, the China Europe Arctic Express route also provides low-carbon dividends for enterprises. Shortening the voyage not only reduces carbon emissions per unit of cargo by 50%, but also enables shipping companies to further reduce emissions by using liquefied natural gas (LNG) powered ships, becoming an important lever for foreign trade enterprises to cope with the EU's carbon border adjustment mechanism.
It is reported that the China Europe Arctic Express is currently operating during the summer ice age window period, with plans to achieve stable navigation for 4 months per year within 3 to 5 years, and strive to achieve the annual navigation target in the long term. At present, Ningbo Zhoushan Port has over 300 container shipping routes, connecting more than 700 ports worldwide. The normalized operation of the China Europe Arctic fast shipping route will further enhance its hub radiation capacity.
