The new variety of Laiyang pear is fragrant overseas

In recent days, the new variety of early maturing sand pear "Xinyu" in Laiyang, Yantai, Shandong has entered the harvest season. After on-site inspection by Yantai Customs under Qingdao Customs, a batch of new jade pears weighing about 12.88 tons from Shandong Qingqing Dadi Fruit and Vegetable Co., Ltd. has set sail for overseas markets. This is the first time that Qingdao Customs District has exported a new variety of Laiyang pear called "Xinyu".

Laiyang has a cultivation history of over 400 years, and Laiyang pear is also a national geographical indication protected product. As a characteristic early maturing variety optimized and upgraded in the Laiyang pear industry, Xinyu pear has become a new growth point for the local fruit industry due to its early maturity and abundant juice.

Yantai Customs officers went deep into the planting base to provide on-site assistance, guiding orchards and packaging factories to improve their software and hardware conditions, establish a complete traceability system for fruits, and consolidate the foundation of export quality and safety.

In previous years, our main focus was on autumn month pears, with relatively concentrated market launch times. The advantage of early maturity of Xinyu pears is obvious, which coincides with staggered market launches and seizes the foreign market, "said Geng Yunfei, the manager of the company." Customs came to guide standardized planting and export filing standards in advance, and also helped us sort out the requirements for epidemic inspection and access in various countries, giving us more confidence and peace of mind in exploring overseas markets

Based on the characteristics of short shelf life and high customs clearance requirements for fresh pears, the customs has implemented measures to facilitate fresh agricultural products, opened a "green channel" for local inspection of exported fresh fruits, promoted appointment inspection, priority inspection, and immediate release, combined with the cloud issuance mode of quarantine certificates, to maximize the compression of customs clearance time.
