Shanghai Port has completed 36000 tons of green methanol fuel injection cumulatively

On August 16th, at the Green Huashan anchorage of Shanghai Port, the methanol refueling ship "Haigang Zhiyuan" injected 8016 tons of domestically produced green methanol into the large methanol dual fuel container ship "Dafei Ousmim" in one go, breaking the record for the highest single injection volume of green methanol in the world. With the support and guarantee of Shanghai Customs, since the completion of the first domestic green methanol refueling in April 2024, Shanghai Port has cumulatively completed 36000 tons of green methanol fuel refueling, and the comprehensive service level of Shanghai International Shipping Center continues to improve.

In order to adapt to the development trend of fuel supply and refueling for international navigation ships in Shanghai Port, Shanghai Customs has implemented precise policies and actively empowered, and tailored ten convenient regulatory measures for the supply of fuel for international navigation ships, covering the entire process of ship fuel production, storage, logistics, and refueling. At the same time, fully unleash the policy dividend of "two warehouse function superposition", assist in expanding bonded methanol storage tanks and adding professional refueling ships at ports, and consolidate the hardware foundation of green fuel port storage, transportation, and refueling.

In terms of regulatory mode, Shanghai Customs has implemented a digital closed-loop regulatory system, relying on the port information system, using modern regulatory methods such as AI video intelligent recognition, electronic declaration and verification processes, etc., to create a digital intelligent regulatory loop for green fuel refueling, compress the ship's stay in port period, continuously reduce enterprise logistics costs, and promote the normalization of green fuel refueling.
