Ningxia's "cows" are full of energy! The first batch of 274 Simmental beef cattle have been shipped to Uzbekistan, adding a new force to the Central Asian live animal trade

Accompanied by the roar of the engine, a specialized transport convoy loaded with 274 Simmental beef cattle recently slowly drove out of the outbound live cattle quarantine site located in the National Agricultural Science and Technology Park in Wuzhong City, heading towards the Central Asian hinterland of Uzbekistan thousands of kilometers away. This is the first time that Ningxia beef cattle have been exported to Uzbekistan, marking that Ningxia's high-quality livestock industry has taken a substantive step in deeply integrating into the joint construction of the "the Belt and Road". 51 Holstein cows were also shipped in the same batch, totaling 325 high-quality live animals, embarking on a cross-border journey together.

High quality seeds going global, precisely meeting market demand

As a core production area for high-quality animal husbandry in China, Ningxia relies on its unique forage resources and high standard breeding system to cultivate Simmental beef cattle, which are known for their fast growth, high meat yield, tender meat, and strong disease resistance. This breed's characteristics are highly compatible with Uzbekistan's continental climate and breeding environment, which will effectively help optimize the structure of beef cattle populations, improve breeding efficiency, and accurately meet the urgent needs of Uzbekistan's national animal husbandry development plan.

Full chain escort, building a strong biosafety defense line

The export of live animals is known as the "high threshold" track in the foreign trade industry, with strict quarantine standards, high cross-border epidemic prevention risks, and difficult full process supervision. To ensure the successful debut of Ningxia beef cattle, Xingqing Customs under Yinchuan Customs has established a fully closed-loop supervision and service system of "source control - isolation and quarantine - customs clearance connection - in transit monitoring". During the quarantine period, customs officers conduct clinical health checks on each cow, verify their "ear number ID card" one by one, and establish a dedicated traceability file. At the same time, with the help of digital means, real-time positioning and trajectory tracking of transportation vehicles can be implemented, achieving full process visibility, manageability, and controllability from Ningxia pastures to overseas destinations.

Green channel, run through the clearance "acceleration"

In order to minimize the stress response caused by long-distance transportation to live animals, Yinchuan Customs has strengthened local cooperation with Xinjiang Port Customs, opened a "green channel", implemented convenient measures such as appointment review and priority inspection, and achieved "immediate arrival, immediate inspection, and immediate release", greatly reducing the waiting time for port replacement and inspection. The efficient clearance mode has won valuable time for the safe arrival of live animals. "This export has not only opened the door to the Central Asian market, but also brought tangible international orders to our enterprises, making us confident in expanding the 'the Belt and Road' market." Qiang Haigui, the head of Ningxia Xingrui Agriculture and Animal Husbandry Co., Ltd., said, "Thanks to the all-round assistance of Yinchuan Customs, the whole process is very smooth from the early quarantine to the later customs clearance, which greatly reduces our operating costs."

Industrial upgrading, "Ning brand" mining new blue ocean

This export is another important expansion of Ningxia's live animal foreign trade map, following the successful export of live cows from Ningxia to Ukraine. As an important pillar of Ningxia's "six special" industries, the opening of beef cattle export channels not only brings tangible international orders to local breeding enterprises, but also drives the improvement and efficiency of Ningxia's breeding of high-quality breeds, standardized breeding, and forage supporting industries in reverse, continuously enhancing the brand influence and core competitiveness of "Ning brand" agricultural and livestock products in the Central Asian market.

In the next step, Yinchuan Customs will continue to focus on the "going global" needs of Ningxia's characteristic agricultural products, continue to optimize regulatory services, and help more high-quality agricultural and livestock products move to the world stage along the "the Belt and Road".
