With its unique geographical advantage and complete industrial supporting system, Fujian has become the core distribution center for imported ornamental fish in China, and the import scale has experienced strong growth. According to Xiamen Customs statistics, the value of imported ornamental fish in Fujian from January to April this year reached 8.89 million yuan, a significant increase of 227.6% year-on-year, and the import scale remained the second largest in the country. Among them, Indonesia is the main source of imported ornamental fish in Fujian Province, with a total import value of 8.17 million yuan from January to April, accounting for 91.9% of the total import value of ornamental fish in Fujian Province during the same period.
The beautiful hard boned tongue fish, commonly known as dragon fish, has become a sought after aquarium delicacy among the people due to its outstanding appearance, long history of reproduction, profound cultural heritage, and auspicious symbolism. With a wide variety of categories and extremely high ornamental value, it firmly occupies a core position in the high-end ornamental fish market. With the continuous maturity of the domestic ornamental fish farming industry, the demand for high-quality dragon fish fry in the market continues to rise, directly driving the import volume to achieve a leapfrog growth.
