On June 22nd, under the supervision of customs officers from Changxing Island in Dalian, 500 kilograms of large cherries declared for export by Dalian Shikang Fruit Professional Cooperative were cleared and released. These cherries are about to be exported through Dalian Airport Port.
Since this year, Dalian's local cherry export market has continued to expand, and has successfully opened up the markets of six countries jointly building the "the Belt and Road", including Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Vietnam.
With the strong support of the customs, the export volume of cherries from our cooperative has exceeded 20% of the total production this year. Now, our cooperative's large cherries have gained popularity in foreign markets, and there is a strong demand for orders from overseas merchants. This year, our cooperative also plans to add and expand 40 acres of orchards to further expand export capacity, "said Ma Xuebin, Chairman of Dalian Shikang Fruit Professional Cooperative.
In order to expand the export channels of Dalian cherries, Dalian Customs has developed a guidance toolkit for the registration of exported fruits, guiding enterprises to smoothly complete the registration procedures for export orchards and packaging factories, and promoting the addition of 5 export cherry processing factories and 880 acres of orchards in Dalian this year. At the same time, we will guide enterprises to optimize the entire process of field planting, green pest control, and cold chain preservation packaging, improve the quality and safety control system, promote the implementation of the "Safety Commitment Compliance Certificate" system, guide enterprises to obtain qualifications such as Good Agricultural Practice GAP and Geographical Indication for agricultural products, and ensure the quality export of Dalian cherries.
According to statistics, from January to May this year, the Dalian region supervised the export of 249.34 tons of cherries, with a value of 28.0092 million yuan, an increase of 106% and 153.78% year-on-year, respectively. (Mao Weixia, Wang Guangpu, Liu Menghu, Qiu Zhankui/text)
