The daylight is gradually lengthening, and the summer solstice has arrived. At 6am on July 9th, it was already clear sky in Zhuhai. The "Green Channel for Fresh Products" at Gongbei Port opened on time, and trucks loaded with fresh products for Australia lined up in an orderly manner to pass through. This' green lifeline 'operates at a steady pace every day, ensuring that the people of Macau take a fresh step forward.

According to statistics from Gongbei Customs, from January to June this year, the customs supervised the export of 88000 tons of fresh products through Gongbei Port to Macau, with a value of approximately 630 million yuan. It is worth noting that with the further deepening of cooperation between Guangdong and Macao, foreign fruits imported from mainland China are accelerating their supply to Macao, increasing the sources of imported fruits for Macao. In the first half of the year, the customs supervised a total of 828 tons of such fruits, with a value of 8.58 million yuan.

Behind the data lies the genuine demand for freshness among the residents of Macau. Last year, Gongbei Customs signed a Memorandum of Understanding on Inspection, Quarantine and Supervision Cooperation for Imported Foreign Fruits with the Macau Municipal Government, opening up a supply channel for foreign fruits imported from the mainland to Australia and New Zealand, "said Huang Hongbin, the head of the Comprehensive Business Department of Gongbei Customs.

There are more and more orders now, not only in terms of quantity, but also in terms of variety, "said Yang Bo, manager of Zhuhai Yiyuan Import and Export Co., Ltd." Especially in summer, Southeast Asian durian, dragon fruit, and Chilean cherries are selling very well in Macau

On the inspection platform, Huang Jianzhi, a customs officer from the fifth department of customs supervision at the gate, held a mobile operation terminal and carefully checked the specifications, quantity, and other information of this batch of fruits. He looked up and responded, "Indeed, this is the second batch of fruits released today. Summer has arrived, and the high temperature weather has also raised higher requirements for our supervision

In order to ensure the safe and stable supply of fresh products to Macau, Gongbei Customs has launched a series of innovative measures in recent years, such as implementing the "three in one" model for supplying chilled aquatic products to Macau, the "pre quarantine and cooperative supervision" model for supplying edible aquatic animals to Macau, and jointly supporting the efficient clearance of compliant agricultural products with the Macau Municipal Government. In the customs clearance process at the port, the customs provide convenient measures such as appointment clearance services and "green channels", relying on the auxiliary mini program for fresh goods clearance in Australia, further reducing the clearance time.

Around noon, the "Green Channel of Fresh Products" connecting Guangdong and Macao gradually returned to calm. Next, the customs will continue to adhere to the principle of "manageable" and take responsibility for "fast communication", making the "fruit basket" of Macau residents more full and the "vegetable basket" more stable.
