Xinhua News Agency: Sichuan's raw silk exports reached 105 million yuan in the first five months, a year-on-year increase of 12.4%

Chengdu, July 6th (Xinhua News Agency) - On July 6th, it was learned from Chengdu Customs that from January to May this year, Sichuan's raw silk exports reached 105 million yuan, a year-on-year increase of 12.4%. As a traditional export processing category in Sichuan, raw silk exports have maintained a steady growth trend overall.

Sichuan Antai Cocoon Silk Group Co., Ltd. in Wusheng County, Guang'an is a key enterprise for exporting raw silk in Sichuan. It processes silkworm cocoons into Grade 6A raw silk through automated equipment and mainly exports its products to the European market. According to Qin Shen, the relevant person in charge of the company, the company's export volume from January to May this year was nearly 35 million yuan, a year-on-year increase of 22%. It is expected that the annual export scale will exceed 100 million yuan. In response to the technical requirements of enterprises in product inspection and quality traceability, the local customs have conducted special inspection training for enterprise personnel and assisted in sorting out key quality control points in the production process.

In Nanchong City, northeast Sichuan, where the raw silk industry is concentrated, local enterprises are also in the peak period of order delivery. The person in charge of Sichuan Bubisi Organic Agriculture Technology Co., Ltd. introduced that raw silk needs to be stored in a ventilated and dry environment. The seasonal climate fluctuations in Sichuan have a certain impact on the stability of product storage and transportation; The current centralized delivery of high-grade raw silk orders has increased the quality control pressure on enterprises in the storage and transportation process. In response to relevant issues, local customs have guided enterprises to optimize packaging and transportation control plans, strengthen temperature and humidity management throughout the entire process, standardize wire twisting balance operations, and reduce the impact of moisture regain fluctuations on raw silk inspection.

It is understood that the relevant regulatory departments will continue to provide technical support around the quality control of the entire chain of exported raw silk, ensuring stable quality of exported products from the production end and helping Sichuan silk products expand overseas markets.
