Export growth doubled from January to May this year, with mulberry plants and bamboo leaves wafting overseas
Recently, in the production workshop of Kanghua Industrial Co., Ltd. in Sangzhi County, Hunan Province, workers are skilled in cleaning, sorting, quick freezing, and repackaging pieces of zongzi leaves. These 17.8 tons of zongzi leaves will be shipped to Southeast Asia before the Dragon Boat Festival. According to Zhangjiajie Customs statistics, from January to May this year, the export of mulberry plant zongzi leaves totaled 1.958 million yuan, a year-on-year increase of 211%, and sold well in many countries and regions in East Asia and Southeast Asia.
Zhangjiajie Customs focuses on local characteristic industries and provides full chain protection for the export of "mulberry plant zongzi leaves". It has launched a "customs chief delivery policy" to solve customs clearance problems encountered by zongzi leaf enterprises on site. It conducts round the clock scheduled inspections of exported zongzi leaves and timely issues a "plant quarantine certificate". Assist in establishing communication channels with foreign trade agencies and logistics companies, connecting multiple cold chain logistics channels for fresh zongzi leaf exports, and reducing transportation time from the origin to the port by 30%.
At present, the export enterprises of zongzi leaves in Sangzhi County have driven thousands of local farmers to stabilize their "green rice bowls" and increase their income at their doorstep through unified technical guidance and the implementation of guaranteed minimum purchase. (Liu Yonggang/Text)
