One third of imported durians come from Mohan Port
During the concentrated market period of durians in Southeast Asian countries, fresh durians from Thailand and other countries continue to arrive at the Mohan Port in Yunnan.
According to statistics from Kunming Customs, in the first four months of this year, Mohan Port (including Mohan Highway Port and Mohan Railway Port) imported a total of 121000 tons of fresh durian, a year-on-year increase of 1.7 times, accounting for one-third of the total fresh durian imports in China. Among them, imported durian reached 82000 tons in April.
Mohan Port is an important hub facing the Indochina Peninsula, where the China Laos Railway and Kunman International Highway run side by side. With the flexible and mobile combination advantage of "railway+road" transportation, Mohan Port has become one of the important gateways for high-quality characteristic products from Southeast Asia to enter the domestic market.
On May 14, an international freight train of the China Laos Railway Lancang Mekong Express Line loaded with Durian, Thailand, passed customs clearance efficiently through early declaration, appointment inspection and other measures, and quickly entered the comprehensive designated supervision site at Mohan Railway Port. "The mode of 'early declaration' has been well applied, and the preparation time for overseas declaration has been reserved for more than 10 hours. At present, the application rate of 'early declaration' of fruit imported by the China Laos Railway has reached 100%." The relevant person in charge of Mengla Customs under Kunming Customs introduced.
It is understood that during the peak import season in Durian, the frequency of the cold chain trains of the China Laos Railway has increased from two to six every day, greatly improving the transportation capacity. Durian can arrive in Kunming within 26 hours by taking the Lancang Mekong Express.
At present, the China Laos Thailand all railway cold chain special train has achieved normalized operation. Imported Thai durian is' one box to the end, fully locked fresh ', and can travel directly from Thailand to the domestic market in less than 3 days. The transportation cost has been reduced by about 15%, and the loss rate has decreased by 10%, "said Ren Zhengwei, Deputy General Manager of Kunming Branch of China Railway Container Transport Co., Ltd. In the first four months of this year, the Mohan Railway Port imported 34000 tons of fresh durian, a year-on-year increase of 1.8 times.
Currently, Mohan imports a complete range of durian varieties, including 7 varieties such as Jinzhen, Maoshanwang, and Jialun. Through the combination of smart customs construction and cross-border trade facilitation special actions, more and more ASEAN agricultural products can be safely and conveniently cleared through customs. Tropical fruits such as durian and longan entering from Mohan Port can be cold chain transported directly to more than 30 large and medium-sized cities such as Guangzhou, Shanghai, and Shenyang through a developed logistics network. "said the person in charge of the Comprehensive Business Department of Mengla Customs.
Mengla Customs has implemented measures to promote cross-border trade facilitation, focusing on the normalized operation needs of the China Laos Thailand all rail cold chain special train, and has launched a combination of "speeding up customs clearance+intelligent supervision+collaborative linkage". Open a "green channel" for fresh agricultural products entering the country, promote rapid laboratory testing and "conditional withdrawal" policies, and use H986 container inspection systems, 5G intelligent individual soldiers and other equipment to enhance regulatory efficiency. In addition, the customs has strengthened its linkage with railway and other departments to facilitate the cross-border fruit logistics channel of "Thailand Laos Mohan", allowing ASEAN fresh fruits to directly reach the domestic consumer market in the best possible time.
observation
China is the world's largest durian consumer market. Data shows that by 2025, China will account for over 90% of the global durian consumption market share. The stable and huge demand has made China the most important export market for durian in Southeast Asia. Looking at the whole country, ports such as Mohan in Yunnan, Nanning in Guangxi, and Nansha in Guangdong have made simultaneous efforts in railway, water, and road transportation, coupled with efficient customs supervision measures, to achieve cross-border "fresh delivery" of imported durian.
The acceleration of logistics not only ensures freshness, but also reduces losses and costs, making durian prices more affordable. It is worth noting that the stable demand in the Chinese market and consumers' requirements for quality are also driving the upgrading of the durian industry chain. For example, Thailand has included the "four no measures" of "unripe fruits, pest infestation, unauthorized use of qualifications, and addition of pigments" into its regulations for strict control. This means that the quality of imported durian will have higher guarantees in the future.
