Fujian Province's exports of dried and fresh fruits, as well as nuts, increased by nearly 60% in the first four months of this year, with the fragrance of Fujian's excellent fruits drifting around the world
Fujian Province has significant advantages in the development of the melon and fruit industry, not only benefiting from its unique natural resource endowment, but also forming systematic competitiveness in variety innovation, industrial layout, market development, and other aspects. Yongchun citrus, Pinghe honey pomelo, Zhangzhou wo citrus, Fu'an Jufeng grape, Xianyou grapefruit and other unique "Fujian flavor" fruits are accelerating their pace of "going global". According to statistics from Fuzhou Customs, in the first four months of this year, the export of dried and fresh fruits and nuts in Fujian Province reached 960 million yuan, a year-on-year increase of 58.1%.
ASEAN is the main market for the export of dried and fresh fruits and nuts in Fujian Province. Malaysia, Indonesia, and the Philippines are the three major countries for the export of dried and fresh fruits and nuts in Fujian Province. In the first four months of this year, they exported 350 million yuan, 170 million yuan, and 120 million yuan respectively to these countries, an increase of 106.1%, 116.2%, and 3.6%, respectively. The three countries accounted for 66.2% of the total export value of dried and fresh fruits and nuts in Fujian Province during the same period.
Citrus, fresh grapes, grapefruits, and pomelos are the main export varieties of dried and fresh fruits and nuts in Fujian Province. In the first four months of this year, exports amounted to 650 million yuan, 74.588 million yuan, and 57.72 million yuan respectively, with a total increase of 74.6%. The three accounted for 82.3% of the total export value of dried and fresh fruits and nuts in Fujian Province during the same period.
In Shunchang County, a citrus export base and the hometown of Chinese citrus, the wogan oranges are hanging heavily on the branches in the orchard, and workers are picking them quickly. In the packaging workshop where Fujian Yunyu Agricultural Development Co., Ltd. is located not far away, fresh Valencia oranges are being prepared to be sent to Singapore after semi-automatic sorting and manual packaging. The total planting area of citrus in Shunchang County reaches 94000 mu, making it a national demonstration zone for citrus quality and safety for export. The annual output is nearly 120000 tons, with more than one-third of it exported. Our citrus varieties are diverse, including wogan, hongmeiren, harrow kumquat, and lukan.
