On the coast of the East China Sea, in the Meishan Port area of Ningbo Zhoushan Port, the huge container ship "Dafei Bibulus" is docked at berth 5. The bridge crane accurately grasps like a steel giant, steadily transporting containers filled with goods to container ships. The latest statistics show that in the first quarter of this year, the Meishan Port Area of Ningbo Zhoushan Port completed a container throughput of over 3.5 million TEUs, a year-on-year increase of 13.3%, setting a historical record for the same period.
The relevant person in charge of Ningbo Meidong Container Terminal Co., Ltd. introduced that the company is based on the new starting point of "tens of millions of containers", and has comprehensively optimized the operation process through measures such as scientific allocation of berth resources and optimization of the "empty weight conversion" yard strategy. In March of this year, the terminal set a milestone of completing container operations of over 50000 TEUs day and night, becoming the first single container terminal in Ningbo Zhoushan Port to exceed 50000 TEUs day and night.
In recent years, Ningbo Customs has actively promoted the construction of a smart customs and the "Smart Customs Strong Country" initiative, deepening the research and application of new intelligent equipment. At the beginning of this year, the heavy container inspection auxiliary robot developed by Ningbo Customs landed and operated at the Meishan Customs inspection site, using technological means to help improve customs clearance efficiency and provide strong support for the first quarter container throughput sprint.
As an important hub block of Ningbo Zhoushan Port, Meishan Port Area continues to upgrade its hardware facilities. Last July, berths 6 to 10 in Meishan Port Area were officially put into use by the Zhejiang Provincial Government. According to the relevant person in charge of the terminal, these 5 newly built container berths with the highest level in the country can easily dock with the world's largest container ships. The automated operation demonstration area adopts the "remote control of two end bridge cranes, mixed operation of intelligent and manual container trucks in the middle" mode, providing a replicable "Meishan solution" for global port automation. In addition, the remaining area of the second phase of the port area has successfully passed the handover acceptance, further enhancing the container transfer and storage capacity.
The vigorous development of new business models has also injected new momentum into the growth of container volume. In January and February of this year, the export volume of Ningbo's cross-border e-commerce special supervision area reached 1.52 billion yuan, ranking first in the country, with a year-on-year increase of 87.5%, becoming an important supplement to the export container volume.
At the beginning of this year, the General Administration of Customs launched a new model of sea rail and water water multimodal transport business, which was first implemented in Zhejiang, further promoting the coordinated development of "port+railway+inland river" and enhancing the radiation ability of ports to surrounding areas. He Jian, the head of the Logistics Monitoring Department of Meishan Customs, a subsidiary of Ningbo Customs, said, "Ningbo Customs has always aimed to optimize the port business environment. While actively supporting the upgrading of port software and hardware, it has also implemented convenient measures such as' advance declaration ',' direct pickup at the ship's side, and direct loading upon arrival 'to compress customs clearance time
The good start of the first season laid a solid foundation for the development of the whole year. Standing at a new starting point, Ningbo Customs will continue to focus on the key planning of port development, adhere to the equal emphasis on supervision and service, and provide strong support for Zhejiang Province and even the Yangtze River Delta region to open up to the outside world at a higher level and achieve higher quality economic development.
