Chinese Ambassador to the United States: Bringing China US Economic, Trade, and Technological Cooperation Back to Common Sense and Rationality
Philadelphia, USA, April 21 (Xinhua) -- Chinese Ambassador to the United States Xie Feng emphasized at the opening ceremony of the 56th World Trade Center Association Global Business Forum held in Philadelphia on the 20th that China US economic, trade, and technological cooperation should return to common sense and rationality.
Xie Feng said in his keynote speech that safeguarding national security is natural, but it cannot be generalized or abused. Some unfounded speculations, lacking basic common sense and unable to withstand factual verification, will only undermine the stability and innovation vitality of the global supply chain, harming others and benefiting oneself. Less groundless suspicion and malicious slander, and more rationality based on market rules and business logic, can truly unleash the enormous potential of cooperation between the two countries.
Xie Feng stated that we need to show greater courage and wisdom to handle the key issues that currently affect the healthy progress of bilateral relations, including establishing correct strategic awareness, making the determination to be partners rather than rivals, cultivating a fair competition mentality, mutual achievement rather than zero sum games, breaking free from the constraints of the "cicada effect", and further gathering warm currents of communication and cooperation.
The World Trade Center Association is the governing body of the "World Trade Center" brand, providing market support to millions of businesses. This forum attracted nearly 500 business representatives from over 50 countries and regions, including China and the United States.
