Dongjiakou Port Customs seized 1180 illegally imported cigarettes carried by crew members

Recently, during the supervision of the luggage and belongings of a crew member on an inbound ship, Dongjiakou Port Customs under Qingdao Customs discovered abnormal machine inspection images of the luggage and belongings of a crew member. After opening the box for inspection, 5 undeclared whole cigarettes and 9 boxes of scattered cigarettes were found in the luggage compartment, totaling 1180 cigarettes.

Tobacco products are restricted by the state from entering the country. Inbound passengers are allowed to carry 400 cigarettes (including heated cigarettes), 20 cigars, or 500 grams of tobacco without tax, provided that the total value of their luggage does not exceed the tax-free amount; Among them, passengers entering from the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region and Macao Special Administrative Region are exempt from carrying 200 cigarettes (including heated cigarettes), 10 cigars, or 250 grams of tobacco. According to the "Management Measures for Import and Export Transportation Vehicles of the People's Republic of China Customs" and relevant regulations, the luggage and items carried by crew members and other personnel of import and export transportation vehicles shall be managed in accordance with the relevant regulations for inbound and outbound passengers.
