According to statistics from Shanghai Customs, there will be a total of 544 inbound and outbound cruise ships in Shanghai Port in 2025, an increase of 17.5% compared to 2024, with an average of about 1.5 ships per day, setting a new historical high; There were 1.857 million inbound and outbound passengers taking cruise ships through Shanghai Port, an increase of 35.1% compared to 2024, with an average of over 5000 passengers per day.
Among them, the first domestically produced large cruise ship, the "Aida Modu", has accumulated 170 inbound and outbound trips throughout the year, carrying 672000 passengers, an increase of 2% and 12% respectively compared to 2024. In the two years since its operation, the "Aida Modu" has completed a total of 337 inbound and outbound trips, serving 1.272 million inbound and outbound passengers.
According to Shanghai Customs, as we enter 2026, the cruise market in Shanghai will continue to be hot with the arrival of the peak travel season of Spring Festival and winter vacation. On January 27th, Shanghai Wusongkou International Cruise Port welcomed the first "two ships docking together" in 2026- the "Aida Modu" and "Mediterranean Glory" two large cruise ships docked successively, officially starting the Shanghai homeport tour of this season. On that day, Baoshan Customs, a subsidiary of Shanghai Customs, supervised a total of 11000 inbound and outbound passengers, of which more than 30% came from foreign countries such as the United Kingdom, the United States, and South Korea.
