Recently, the Hong Kong Zhuhai Macao Bridge Customs under Gongbei Customs seized a cross-border driver who used a Guangdong Hong Kong license plate bus to hide 5 silver ingots entering the country.

At around 20:00 on the same day, customs officers discovered abnormal machine inspection images of a Guangdong Hong Kong license plate passenger car while monitoring the entry passenger car passage at the Zhuhai Highway Port of the Hong Kong Zhuhai Macao Bridge. After further inspection, the customs officers found 5 suspected silver ingots weighing 148.7 kilograms in the compartment below the soundproof cotton between the second row seats and the rear trunk of the car. After appraisal by professional institutions, it was determined that the purity of the precious metal in this batch of items was pure silver, with a silver content of up to 999 ‰. The driver confessed to hiding smuggling activities and admitted that they were for resale and profit within the country.
