Spring Warm Customs Clearance Busy, Zhuhai Macau 'Golden Waterway' Clears Smoothly During the Spring Festival

During the Chinese New Year, there are various highlights of activities in Zhuhai and Macao, and the flow of inbound and outbound passengers at Wan Chai Port continues to rise. According to statistics, from February 15th to 23rd, Wan Chai Customs inspected and released 61000 inbound and outbound passengers, supervised 736 inbound and outbound ships, supported the opening of 142 additional voyages for passenger ships traveling between Zhuhai and Macao, and achieved "public transportation" operation of ships every 15 minutes during peak hours.

Wan Chai Port is one of the earliest two external ports established in Zhuhai, facing the Macau Inland Port across the river. It is the closest and shortest waterway port between Zhuhai and Macau. This 5-minute journey, hailed as the "golden waterway" by residents of both places, is even more smooth and heartwarming during the Spring Festival.

In response to the characteristics of cross-border tourism during the Chinese New Year, Wan Chai Customs officers under Gongbei Customs took the initiative to educate the public, dynamically optimized on-site personnel allocation, distributed brochures to passengers, promoted regulatory regulations, guided mini program declaration, and provided one-on-one answers to questions.

In addition, the customs fully utilize intelligent equipment such as X-ray machines and metal detection doors to accurately identify suspicious items, effectively improve the efficiency of regulatory services, strengthen communication and cooperation with joint inspection units, and form a joint force to ensure smooth customs clearance for passengers. On the fourth day of the first lunar month, the peak daily passenger flow at Wan Chai Port reached 9223, setting a new high since the beginning of this year.
