In late May, the peony competition in Heze, Shandong not only beautifies the early summer appearance of a city, but also gives birth to a booming overseas "beauty economy".

On May 20th, at the peony planting base of Baiyi Peony Horticulture Co., Ltd. in Heze City, staff were picking fresh cut peony flowers. Nowadays, overseas orders are piling up and exploding, and fresh cut flowers are prone to withering and loss after picking, so they should not be left for a long time. We need to complete the customs clearance procedures as soon as possible and ship them for export, "said Hao Haiwei, the person in charge of the company.

Taking into account the characteristics of easy withering, poor storage and transportation, and high timeliness requirements of exported fresh cut flowers, Heze Customs under Qingdao Customs has established a fresh cut flower export guarantee working group based on the current situation of seasonal product exports. The group has identified the export batches, logistics, and order situation of enterprises, opened a "green channel", and ensured that peony fresh cut flowers are "reported, inspected, and released immediately", achieving "morning picking, afternoon inspection, and evening departure". Through a series of measures, the clearance time for fresh cut peony flowers has been reduced by more than 60%, which not only maximizes the quality of the flowers but also reduces the clearance costs for enterprises.

Now our fresh cut flowers are declared, installed, and exported on the same day, and can arrive at their destination the next day. Customers are very satisfied with the freshness of the peony. We are ready to continue expanding overseas markets and sell Heze peony fresh cut flowers to more international markets. When it comes to future fresh cut flower exports, Hao Haiwei is full of confidence.

Statistics show that in the first four months of this year, Heze has exported 815000 fresh cut peony flowers, an increase of nearly three times compared to the total export volume of last year.

The customs will make every effort to assist enterprises in seizing the flowering period, preserving freshness, and stabilizing exports, "said Zhang Jihai, the head of the Inspection and Quarantine Department of Heze Customs. In the next step, Heze Customs will continue to optimize customs clearance services, closely monitor the flowering period to ensure exports, and help local characteristic agricultural products expand overseas markets.
