The export of new energy vehicles from Xinsha Port increased by 258.6% year-on-year

Recently, 462 new energy vehicles boarded a roll on/roll off ship in the Xinsha Port area of Guangzhou Port, heading towards Southeast Asia. Just the day before, this batch of cars had just arrived at Xinsha Port by railway, and were supervised and released by the customs officers of Xinsha Haiguan under Huangpu Customs. They were successfully loaded onto the ship and set sail in less than 24 hours.
This scene is a daily portrayal of the "Iron Sea Intermodal Transport" model at Xinsha Port. The railway line in Xinsha Port Area is less than 100 meters away from the dock shoreline, making it the only roll on/roll off dock in South China with direct railway access to the port area. With the advantage of railways penetrating deep into the port area, the export vehicles from the port can avoid secondary transportation and repackaging, effectively saving turnover links. Compared with the traditional land transportation mode, the overall logistics cost of rail sea intermodal transportation has been reduced by nearly 20%, and the transportation time has been reduced by about 30%, continuing to expand the radiation depth of export car ports.
Tang Lening, Manager of the Automotive Operations Department at Guangzhou Port Xinsha Port Co., Ltd., stated that relying on the "rail sea intermodal transportation" model, cars effectively avoid the common congestion and uncertain factors such as weather changes in road transportation during the port gathering process, and the arrival time is more accurate. In the past, it took two to three days for a car to arrive at the port and load the ship, but now it can be completed within 24 hours, so there is basically no need to worry about delaying the shipping schedule.
In order to support the efficient export of domestic cars, Xinsha Customs actively leverages the advantages of port logistics, continuously opens up the "rail sea intermodal" channel, and promotes the successful opening of customized trains for new energy vehicle rail sea intermodal transportation from Chongqing, Guangxi, Hefei, Liuzhou, Guiyang to Xinsha Port, achieving "one-time packing and full transportation" of exported vehicles by inland car companies. The customs also precisely connects with the export needs of enterprises, attracting multiple shipping companies to dock four routes including Southeast Asia, South America, and Japan at Xinsha Port, further meeting the diversified export route needs of automobile companies and enhancing the logistics influence of the port.
In addition, Xinsha Customs has optimized its supervision mode by sharing information on freight situations, achieving early notification of train arrival information, synchronous processing of customs clearance procedures, and precise docking of loading plans, thereby improving the efficiency of supervision and automobile export customs clearance.
According to statistics, from January to May this year, the number of new energy vehicles exported through Xinsha Port reached 28700, a year-on-year increase of 258.6%, which has attracted more than 10 brands such as BYD, Chevrolet, Honda, Geely, etc. to export here.
