The export of the BRICS' 'Anzhi Trade' route has exceeded 80 million yuan

On May 26th, a shipment of IP phones, Bluetooth earphones, and other goods marked as "SSTL" with a value of over 6 million yuan successfully completed customs clearance procedures at the Dongdu Customs under Xiamen Customs, and boarded the "SeaspanTokyo" cargo ship to Durban Port in South Africa. Since the opening of the "Anzhi Trade" route between central and southern China (Africa) in August 2025, pilot enterprises have exported goods worth 85.05 million yuan through this model, providing strong support for Xiamen to improve the quality and growth rate of its trade with Africa.
It is reported that the "Anzhi Trade" route between China and other BRICS countries is currently the only "Anzhi Trade" (Safe Intelligent Trade Route Pilot Program) route between China and other BRICS countries. Xiamen Customs and Durban Customs in South Africa actively cooperate in promoting trade facilitation, adopting an innovative cooperation model of "information sharing, mutual recognition of supervision, and mutual assistance in law enforcement". Enterprises participating in the pilot program can have priority in handling customs procedures in Xiamen and Durban, South Africa. In principle, after customs inspection by the exporting country, the importing country will no longer conduct inspections. According to the calculations of pilot enterprises, this model can increase the customs clearance efficiency of goods exported to South Africa by more than 60%, significantly reduce the clearance time, improve logistics efficiency, and significantly enhance the competitiveness of enterprises in overseas markets.
To ensure the efficient and smooth operation of the "Anzhi Trade" route, Xiamen Customs has prepared an export plan in advance and designated a dedicated person to handle customs clearance matters. At the same time, the customs has established a business liaison mechanism, carefully reviewed data exchange projects, and maintained close communication with Durban Customs to achieve point-to-point synchronization of export information, ensuring that goods can enjoy a series of customs clearance conveniences such as priority inspection and rapid release at Durban Port.
In recent years, Xiamen has deeply integrated into the "BRICS" framework. As of the end of April this year, Xiamen Port has a total of 22 "BRICS routes" connecting 19 ports in 7 countries.
According to Cai Yi, Director of the Xiamen Customs Port Supervision Department, the export value of the "Anzhi Trade" route between China and South Africa has exceeded 80 million yuan, which is not only an important milestone in the remarkable operation of the route, but also accumulates valuable experience for China to expand such cooperation with other BRICS countries. Next, Xiamen Customs will sign a "Smart Trade" cooperation implementation plan with Cape Town Customs, promoting the official opening of the new "Smart Trade" route from Xiamen to Cape Town this year. The expansion of the "Anzhi Trade" route in Central South Africa will benefit more enterprises and help Xiamen deeply integrate into the development pattern of the "BRICS".
