Beijing sturgeon eggs exported to Uzbekistan for the first time
Recently, under the supervision of Tongzhou Customs under Beijing Customs, a batch of 160000 high-quality sturgeon eggs were successfully shipped and exported to Uzbekistan by flight. This is the first time that Beijing has exported aquatic animals to Uzbekistan. According to feedback from the importing party, sturgeon eggs have been hatched in local farms in Uzbekistan, with a hatching rate of over 90% and good growth status of fish fry.
China has mature technology and a solid industrial foundation in sturgeon genetic breeding and large-scale breeding of seedlings. The sturgeon eggs exported this time are a national new variety independently cultivated by the Chinese Academy of Fishery Sciences, with characteristics such as fast growth rate, strong disease resistance, and excellent meat quality. After the introduction of this variety into Uzbekistan, it will further enrich the local breeding variety structure.
The egg laying and hatching of sturgeon are extremely sensitive to environmental conditions such as water temperature and quality. After parent fish lay eggs, the eggs must undergo quarantine, packaging, and air transportation in a very short period of time to ensure subsequent hatching rates and reproductive performance. The active window period of sturgeon eggs is very short, and we have to race against time from laying eggs to shipping. There is no room for any mistakes in the whole process. Tongzhou Customs intervened and guided us in advance, helping us avoid many detours and seizing valuable time on the spot, "said Wang Hongwei, Deputy Director of the Achievement Transformation Department of the Chinese Academy of Fishery Sciences.
The Chinese Academy of Fishery Sciences regards these fish eggs as "explorers" and plans to track the breeding performance of fish fry in Central Asia throughout the process, obtain the first watch type and adaptability data, feed back domestic breeding research and development, promote variety iteration and upgrading, and hope to use sturgeon as a link to make this project a demonstration case of fishery technology cooperation between China and Central Asia.
To ensure the smooth export of this batch of high-value and high time efficient fish eggs, Tongzhou Customs has coordinated in advance and carried out a full process policy promotion around standardized declaration, packaging labeling requirements, etc. In response to specific issues raised by export units such as certificate sample selection and consistency of Chinese and English translation, timely answers and guidance are provided to ensure that the declaration materials pass the review in one go. At the same time, the customs efficiently issued the "Animal Health Certificate", continuously optimized the customs clearance process, and opened up a "green channel" for the export of fresh aquatic products, allowing products to be exported quickly and smoothly.
