The new momentum of import and export of China Europe freight trains (Wuhan) is strong. In the first five months, the goods of Wuhan customs supervised freight trains increased by 18.2%

On June 5th, a China Europe freight train loaded with car parts departed from Wujiashan Railway Center Station with a whistle and departed through Alashankou. The smooth shipment of this train marks the official launch of the new feature "Automobile Special Line" tailored for the export of Hubei's automobile industry into regular operation.

In recent years, Hubei has gradually transformed from a traditional industrial base to a high-tech manufacturing highland, and its strong industrial foundation has provided a continuous source of goods for the China Europe freight train (Wuhan). The China Europe freight train (Wuhan) has not only achieved a qualitative change in frequency from a "trickle of water" to a "rushing river", but its cargo category has also expanded from traditional daily necessities to high value-added products such as new energy vehicles, lithium batteries, photovoltaic modules, etc. According to statistics, from January to May this year, Wuhan Customs supervised the import and export of 42000 TEUs of goods transported by China Europe freight trains, a year-on-year increase of 18.2%. As of now, the China Europe freight train (Wuhan) has opened a total of 63 stable cross-border transportation routes, radiating to 42 countries and 124 cities on the Eurasian continent.

To accurately serve the needs of local industries, Wuhan Customs insists on going deep into the front line, working together with railway central stations and train operation enterprises to jointly calculate the optimal logistics path and customs clearance plan. We will implement precise policies around the advantageous industries in Hubei Province, and tailor the "Automobile Special Line" for major export goods such as automotive parts produced by Hubei Dongfeng Motor and the surrounding urban automotive industry belt. We will achieve Friday fixed point, fixed line, fixed train number, and scheduled shipment, efficiently delivering to major automobile production and sales countries in Eurasia. By implementing convenient measures such as advance declaration and appointment inspection, we ensure that the goods on the train are inspected and released as soon as they arrive, guaranteeing the smooth operation of new routes such as Copenhagen in Denmark and Baku in Azerbaijan, and helping more high-end manufacturing products made in Hubei to expand into the Eurasian market, effectively ensuring the stability and smoothness of the international supply chain. As of now, the "Automobile Special Line" has shipped a total of 420 standard containers with a value of approximately 80 million yuan.

While ensuring the stable operation of the train, Wuhan Customs continues to optimize its supervision mode and empower customs clearance with technology for convenience. In response to the cumbersome process of unloading LCL cargo to the inspection site and then loading it onto the vehicle in the traditional mode, we vigorously promote and continuously optimize the "inspection before shipment" mode, and innovatively develop the "Export LCL Cargo Supervision Information Module" to achieve visual and dynamic monitoring of the entire process of cargo entry, packing, and transportation in transit. The 'inspection before shipment' model of Hankou Customs has been a great help, "said Xia Zehao, assistant general manager of Wuhan Hanou International Logistics Co., Ltd. The logistics cost has been significantly reduced by adopting the mode of inspecting and releasing goods first and then packing them into the station. Customers have reported that it is now convenient and reduces logistics costs.

60 kilometers away from Wujiashan Railway Center Station, Xianglushan Station, the second starting station of the China Europe Railway Express (Wuhan) that was put into operation in August last year, is also busy and orderly. In the past, goods from Wuhan's water transport port that wanted to be loaded onto the China Europe freight train for export usually needed to be transferred via short haul road to Wujiashan Station, which not only increased logistics costs but also took time and effort. In order to break through this logistics bottleneck, Wuhan Customs has taken the initiative to fully guarantee the operation of the second starting station of Xianglushan Station, relying on the integrated operation and supervision of railways and ports, and greatly improving the efficiency of assembly and transit through the mode of cargo collection along the river and direct train delivery. Nowadays, goods from Jiangsu and other places can be transported directly to Yangluo Port via Yangtze River water transportation, and can be seamlessly loaded onto the China Europe freight train at Xianglushan Station, reducing the overall logistics cost by about 15% and shortening the transportation time by more than 2 days. The advantages of iron rail intermodal transportation are truly highlighted.

The implementation of a series of practical measures, from "passive response" to "specialized customization", from "tedious and inefficient" to "visible and controllable", from "single point shipping" to "dual station linkage", has brought significant results in foreign trade growth. Wuhan Customs will continue to focus on the development needs of the local open economy, continue to improve the level of cross-border trade facilitation, with a better business environment and more efficient regulatory services, and contribute a solid customs force to build an inland open highland and high-quality joint construction of the "the Belt and Road".
