The closer the New Year approaches, the stronger the flavor of the year becomes, and the drifting sailors are eager to return home. As a national bulk cargo distribution center and energy storage and transportation base, Qingdao Dongjiakou Port has also recently experienced a peak in crew turnover.
Ai Yongfeng from the Transport Vehicle Supervision Department of Dongjiakou Port Customs under Qingdao Customs arrived at his post earlier than usual. Let's move faster and streamline the process, so that the crew brothers can set off on their way home early and have a safe and stable reunion year! "He called on his colleagues to change their equipment and quickly sorted out the ship supervision list for the day, his words filled with urgency and warmth.
On the shore of Dongjiakou Port, Ai Yongfeng is widely recognized as the "vanguard of health inspection". With a 14 year career as a military doctor, he quickly transformed after joining the customs. With solid professional skills and rigorous work attitude, he quickly grew into a backbone of health inspection work.
Now, facing the peak of crew changes during the Chinese New Year, this experienced "veteran" is charging ahead, using intelligent supervision measures and thoughtful services to pave a convenient and warm "home road" for ocean going crew members.
Hurry up, even faster! "As an international sailing ship slowly sailed into the anchorage of Dongjiakou Port, the crew member Xiao Wang on the deck had already packed his bags and looked up at the shore.
A year of ocean turbulence, filled with longing for family. He eagerly hopes to complete the procedures as soon as possible and catch the flight back home. To Xiao Wang's surprise, before the ship had fully docked, Ai Yongfeng had already led his colleagues to use the "smart telecommunications quarantine" mode to remotely carry out temperature measurement, flow investigation, data verification and other work. The entire process was carried out in one go, completing all quarantine procedures in just over ten minutes.
In the past, when docking at the port, one had to wait for half a day for the quarantine process alone, and now it's too fast! "Xiao Wang couldn't hide his excitement and quickly rushed to the crew joint inspection center. He clearly remembers that during peak shift periods in previous years, customs and border inspections needed to be conducted separately, and the entire process often took more than an hour. Nowadays, customs and border inspection are jointly creating a "one-stop" service model, achieving "joint inspection and one-time release". After submitting the materials, Xiao Wang completed all the shift change procedures in just twenty minutes.
The green lights all the way from quarantine to customs clearance are the most heartwarming speed of the Chinese New Year! "Xiao Wang, who successfully completed the customs clearance procedures, couldn't hide a smile on his lips and hurried to the airport to take a plane home. Watching his hurried back, Ai Yongfeng turned to his colleagues and reminded them, "The ships will follow this rhythm in the future, and we must ensure that every crew member who changes shifts can return home smoothly and reunite
Some people rush back home, while others stick to their posts. Chef Lao Liu, who was on the same boat as Xiao Wang, chose to stay on the boat for the Chinese New Year. His biggest concern was whether the New Year supplies on board could be delivered in time, so that his colleagues who stayed behind could also have a lively reunion year. And this concern is no longer a problem in the face of the "Ship Easy Pass" ship supervision system promoted by Dongjiakou Port Customs.
In the past, the declaration of materials for ships required agents to bring paper documents back and forth to the window for processing, which was cumbersome, time-consuming, and laborious. Nowadays, the entire process can be processed online, and agents can complete the declaration through their mobile phones, which is efficient and worry free, preparing the "New Year's flavor" for ship crew members by pressing the "fast forward button".
When the materials loaded with Spring Festival couplets, dumplings and other New Year goods arrived at the dock, Ai Yongfeng led his colleagues to conduct inspections as soon as possible, strictly checking the list of materials and inspecting the food safety status to ensure the safe and compliant boarding of the New Year goods. Looking at the neatly arranged New Year's goods in the cabin, Lao Liu and his colleagues gathered together, planning the New Year's affairs one by one: "On the morning of New Year's Eve, put up couplets, wrap dumplings together at noon, and welcome the New Year with a lively atmosphere!" The originally quiet cabin was instantly filled with laughter and joy, and a strong New Year's atmosphere filled the air.
Adhering to the New Year is not only a responsibility, but also a sense of duty. As the backbone of transportation supervision, Dongjiakou Port Customs, where Ai Yongfeng is located, has implemented multiple convenient measures such as smart telecommunications quarantine, one-stop service for crew change, and online supervision of "Ship Easy", empowering customs clearance efficiency with intelligence and warming the hearts of crew with warm services.
In 2025, Ai Yongfeng and his colleagues supervised a total of 3875 international navigation ships, served 79600 crew members, and processed 10000 batches of materials for supply and return of ships. All data steadily increased year-on-year, and the vitality of port clearance continued to burst.
This year marks the 12th Spring Festival that Ai Yongfeng has been holding his position at the customs. From the dim morning light to the falling night, from the front of the dock to the joint inspection center, his figure has always been running on the front line of regulatory services, which is a vivid portrayal of countless grassroots customs officers' dedication and responsibility during the Chinese New Year.
The crew brothers have been drifting at sea for half a year, and finally had the opportunity to take a break and go home for the Chinese New Year. Even if it's late or the task is heavy, we must do our best to ensure it! "At midnight, Ai Yongfeng, who completed the last batch of crew change work that day, rubbed his tired eyes, but his face was full of satisfaction. (Xu Lingfei/Text)
