Customs at Daxing Airport seized 100 cigarettes and heated cigarettes

Recently, during the supervision of inbound passengers' luggage by the Daxing Airport Customs under the jurisdiction of Beijing Customs, two passengers who chose the "green channel" for customs clearance were found to have abnormal baggage inspection images. After unpacking and inspection, the on-site customs officers seized 100 cigarettes and heated cigarettes, totaling 20000 cigarettes, from the backpacks and suitcases carried by the aforementioned passengers. Both passengers claimed that the above-mentioned items were used for purchasing on behalf of others for profit.
Customs reminder: According to the "Measures for the Collection of Customs Duties, Value Added Tax, and Consumption Tax on Imported Goods" and other regulations, inbound passengers are allowed to carry 400 cigarettes (including heated cigarettes), 20 cigars, or 500 grams of tobacco duty-free, provided that the total value of their luggage does not exceed the tax-free amount; Among them, passengers entering from the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region and Macao Special Administrative Region are exempt from carrying 200 cigarettes (including heated cigarettes), 10 cigars, or 250 grams of tobacco.
