On the noon of January 22nd, flight K6668, entering from Phnom Penh, Cambodia, landed smoothly on runway 5 of Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport and entered the exclusive parking space of Terminal 3. At the port site, the customs officers at Guangzhou Baiyun Airport, which is under the jurisdiction of Guangzhou Customs, have already been fully prepared and quickly started the supervision and guarantee work for the first international inbound flight at T3 terminal.

Today, the international business of T3 terminal is launched, and the biggest upgrade highlight of the customs clearance process is the 'smart customs' application at the port site, which makes passenger clearance more convenient and efficient. ”Tang Shujun, the head of the Travel Inspection Department of Guangzhou Baiyun Airport Customs, stated that the customs have made targeted intelligent upgrades in the three stages of entry, exit, and transit, driven by the dual wheels of "smart supervision and high-quality service", to comprehensively enhance the clearance experience.

In the entry process, Guangzhou Customs implements "seamless customs clearance" through embedded intelligent supervision. Set up 16 intelligent channels, including temperature and nuclear radiation integrated monitoring channels and hand luggage pre check channels. While monitoring the temperature and nuclear radiation data of incoming passengers, the backend information system conducts non-invasive checks on their hand luggage and generates inspection records "one-on-one". Dangerous luggage will be intercepted in the first time, while law-abiding passengers will enjoy a smooth experience of carrying their bags and leaving immediately.

In the outbound process, Guangzhou Customs has set up a departure tax refund special area next to the international check-in counter, piloting the implementation of a "single package" convenient service for departure tax refunds. The efficiency of customs inspection procedures for outbound passengers has been improved by about 70%. At the same time, customs and security have deepened their cooperation in "one-time inspection". The customs inspection of outbound hand luggage is merged with airport security inspection. Passengers only need to submit their luggage and undergo one inspection when leaving the country. The checked baggage that needs to be inspected by customs is transported to the outbound customs inspection area through an automatic baggage sorting system and arrives at the same time as the outbound passengers, reducing their waiting time.

The intelligent upgrade of the transit process is equally thoughtful. Guangzhou Customs will link the customs inspection station with the airport's automatic luggage sorting system. Luggage that needs to be opened for inspection will be automatically diverted to the customs inspection station located in the transit channel. Transit passengers do not need to pick up their luggage on their own, and transit checked luggage that does not need to be opened for inspection will be directly sent to the next flight and directly delivered to the destination.

To ensure the smooth operation of international business at Terminal 3, Guangzhou Customs has planned in advance to establish a special support team. They have conducted multiple on-site investigations of the travel inspection channels, inspection sites, and intelligent device locations at Terminal 3, and tailored regulatory process plans based on the terminal's functional layout and passenger flow characteristics. At the same time, we will strengthen the application of the achievements of smart customs construction, synchronously complete the deployment of 37 devices such as early machine inspection, intelligent image review, and facial recognition, and achieve seamless integration and data exchange between the customs supervision system and the terminal operation system.

At present, Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport has established a global network of air routes, connecting more than 230 domestic and international destinations, and the inbound and outbound passenger flow continues to rise. (Guan Yue/Text)
